The Adult Education Ministry Team
The Mission of the Adult Education Ministry Team
is to nurture and educate all people in the scriptures, creeds and
precepts of the Christian faith so they can apply the Word of God to
their daily lives.
To accomplish this Mission, the Adult Education
Ministry Team is committed to the following:
- To pray regularly, both individually
and corporately, seeking God’s will and desire for educational
programs that will help those in our congregation and our community;
- To train teachers and assistants who
are prepared for teaching the Word;
- To work together with the Children and
Youth Education Ministry Team to develop church-wide programs that
complement one another in theme, purpose and effectiveness;
- To plan special studies and courses,
with guidance from the Director of Christian Education, to meet the
specific needs of all adults;
- To ensure that all persons have an
opportunity to learn more about God on their own by providing
resources—such as books, tapes, recordings, videos, CD’s and
DVD’s—that can be used at home;
- To review and order curricular
materials that are appropriate for our needs and interests at Grace
Covenant Presbyterian Church;
- To strive for excellence in all areas
of Christian education, especially in teaching and showing other how
God can transform us from ordinary people into extraordinary
servants.
Membership in the Adult Education
Ministry Team will include the presiding elder, the Director of
Christian Education, the moderator and vice moderator of Presbyterian
Women, the leader of the Men’s Prayer Breakfast, the leader(s) of the
Small Groups, the leader(s) of the ad-hoc Summit Vision Team, the
Scholarship Committee, all adult Sunday School teachers and/or
assistants, and other interested members of the congregation at-large.
